Job Description

The APHC’s mission is to promote health and prevent disease, injury, and disability of Soldiers and military retirees, their families, and the Department of the Army civilian employees; and assure effective execution of full spectrum veterinary service for Army and Department of Defense Veterinary missions.

GDIT is seeking anEpidemiologistto perform the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Serves as project team member with experience in epidemiologic study design, biostatistical analytic methods, and execution of epidemiology studies.

  • Experience with or interest in infectious disease, animal disease, zoonotic disease, or foodborne illness would be helpful.

  • The work involves application of biostatistical methods to analyze military medical surveillance data, military animal surveillance data, and the design and analysis of cohort, case-control, and cross-sectional epidemiologic investigations of Army hearing injury issues.

  • Able to perform analytical and inferential statistics to include risk ratios, odds ratios, ANOVA, T-test, chi 2, correlation, non-parametric tests, regression and logistic regression, and survival analysis with expertise using data analysis software SPSS and/or SAS.

  • Able to clean and manage large databases.

  • Independently conducts literature searches and prepares clear and concise written reports, project plans, correspondence, and professional papers for submission to peer-reviewed journals.

  • Presents lectures or briefings at scientific meetings, seminars, and workshops. Contributes to Army Veterinary Services technical education, communication, and training products.


Masters level education in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, or public health.


2-5 years of related statistical analysis experience.
