Using Agile methodology, GDIT works closely with our clients to develop singularly great software. Our clients are the EPA with stakeholders that include scientists, manufacturers, and fuel producers, who submit their data through the Central Data Exchange (CDX) as the Agency's single source for collecting electronic data from local governments and agencies, private industries, state governments, and tribes.
We are looking for curious, intelligent and motivated people with strong analytical skills who are interested in becoming part of an Agile team. This position provides an opportunity to work closely with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), an agency that is establishing itself as a leader in the digital services movement by creating more agile systems, improving every day processes, and focusing on user-centered delivery. As an Agile analyst, you will be working with a dynamic group of functional analysts, developers, and testers at GDIT to help the EPA solve real problems and the challenge of delivering higher quality software faster.
The applicant serves as a core support member for the team working closely with Product Owners and high performing development teams to help manage the product, as Help Desk support staff learning the art of customer management while learning how the information system supports environmental policy and regulation. The knowledge and skills gained in this position prepares the applicant for a career in Agile business analysis where these environmental policies and regulations would be translated into requirements for supporting the maintenance and modernization of Federal information systems.
Essential Job Functions
Assists in planning and designing business processes; assists in formulating recommendations to improve and support business activities.
Assists in analyzing and documenting client's business requirements and processes; communicates these requirements to technical personnel by constructing basic conceptual data and process models, including data dictionaries and volume estimates.
Assists in creating basic test scenarios to be used in testing the business applications in order to verify that client requirements are incorporated into the system design.
Assists in developing and modifying systems requirements documentation to meet client needs.
Participates in meetings with clients to gather and document requirements and explore potential solutions.
Executes systems test from existing test plans. Assists in analyzing testing results in all phases.
Participates in technical reviews and inspections to verify 'intent of change' is carried through phases of project.
Interact with customers through a Help Desk to help solve challenges and issues.
Support Product Owners and Business Analysts in their management of requirements and product features.
Assist with the management of requirements and collaboration sessions using tools like Jira and Confluence.
Assist in the research and assessment of business goals, objectives and needs to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.
Serve as a liaison between technical personnel and business area.
Schedule and facilitate meetings for collaborators.
Conduct testing such as functional testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Bachelors Degree and 1-2 years of work experience as a Business Process or Systems Analyst
Experience with Agile
Experience with creating User Stories and gathering user requirements.
Knowledge of requirement gathering tools such as Jira and Confluence
Nice to have Java knowledge
