General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Senior Level Engineer to join our team in support of a Federal Intelligence Agency contract. Primary responsibilities include providing Tier 4 and Engineering support of an Active Directory infrastructure that supports multiple Microsoft based networks spanning multiple security enclaves within a hybrid (Windows & RHEL) environments. This includes domain controllers and supporting services like federation, rights management, implementing new Group Policies, and working with various other external entities on implementations and integration of new and existing projects as needed. This Senior Level Engineer should be well versed in the foundations that make up a Mission IT network.

Job Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Performs complex systems development and design work that may include multi-forest, federation, integration with RHEL, etc.

  • Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.

  • Participates in engineering upgrades and enhancements to management information systems core services.

  • Create, revise, and develop documentation such as: CONOPS, System Design, Implementations plans, and Test Plans for new or existing systems.

  • Develops and conducts functional tests to ensure systems meet requirements.

  • Document Security Tests/requirements on both new and fielded information systems or provide accreditation evaluations and test support to ensure all technical security features are considered and functioning properly.

  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems with both short-term workarounds and long-term solutions. Responds to escalated service desk/team requests.

  • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.

  • Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.

  • Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers.

  • Quickly research and become knowledge in relevant technology as assigned.

  • Participates in special projects as assigned such as evaluation of vendor products.

  • Communicate effectively (in oral and written form) with a variety of individuals; work well within small and large team environments.


Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.


8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.

Candidates should have a firm knowledge/understanding of:

  • Active Directory Replication (Sites/Site-Links/Bridgehead),

  • Active Directory Maintenance (x,000+ user environment)

  • Active Directory Troubleshooting (object backup/restore, disaster recovery)

  • Active Directory Multi Forest Management within Trusts (one-way/two-way

  • Domain Consolidation and Domain Migration

  • Active Directory Federation Services

  • Group Policy Management, Troubleshooting, Design. (100+ policy environment)


  • Windows 10, Server 2012, Server 2016

  • PowerShell

  • FIM/MIM (Microsoft forefront Identity manager)

  • Privileged Access Management and Access Control (Role Based Access Control, Configure applications for LDAP/SAML integration, Kerberos).

Preferred Candidates will also have experience in the following technologies:

  • VMware

  • Citrix

  • Virtual Desktops

TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required for this position. Candidate should meet the DoD 8570.01-M requirements IAT Level II such as the CompTIA Security+ certification.
