General Dynamics Information Technology Security Communications Specialist - TS/SCI with Polygraph Required in Chantilly, Virginia

Job Description

Position requires an active in-scope TS/SCI clearance and polygraph.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the IC Client’s Leadership and Program Security Officers to provide support to the security awareness and communications program;

  • Plan, coordinate, schedule, and market security awareness events both locally and regionally to include an annual security event at headquarters with approval of USG. Agendas for events are based on requests, scope of current policy or strategic initiatives, and the need for awareness based on current security trends;

  • Support internal and external security awareness events including Road show presentations to industry;

  • Make recommendations in support of the strategic security awareness Communication Plans based on current security trends and internal needs. The Communication Plans will include the overall design, development, and implementation of each communication effort;

  • Produce security communications to answer specific security threats and current issues in a timely manner for review and approval by USG;

  • Assist in the development of the communication strategies for IC Client’s developed products such as; policy notes and directives, security produced courses, security events, or technical solutions that are deployed throughout the enterprise.

  • Assist in responses to TIER (internal action item and document tracking system) actions that address security awareness and communications policy to ensure consistency;

  • Assist in the management of the Security Orientation Program, with review and approval of USG Client to include design, development, briefer training, and liaison with Office of Strategic Human Capital;

  • Oversee the implementation and contribute to IC Client’s on-line newsletter and the Did You Know program with review and approval of IC Client;

  • If a product is required to accompany a communication release, coordinate creative approaches, research, development, and implementation with the Security Communications Production Specialists;

  • Service incoming requests for security awareness materials from both Government and industry partner security professionals. Maintain a current distribution list of customers for security awareness products and materials. Support the management of the security awareness product inventory. Subject to Government review and approval, develop products to help promote better security practices. Process individual product requests for shipment. Work closely with Mail Processing Team for delivery.

  • Oversee the communications content of the IC Client’s website to maintain integrity of awareness information on all points and links within the website. The Contractor shall work closely with the IC Client’s website content managers for review and approval;

  • Create and develop security awareness class materials, web site information, and products consistent with policy, for review and approval by USG;

  • Provide IA related security briefings to various internal and external organizations with approval of USG;

  • Subject to USG review and approval, interface with industry partners to arrange meetings, provide informational briefings and trainings, discuss upcoming trainings, changes to the training program, etc.;

  • Support customer outreach to Intelligence Community (IC) and Industry-based Working Groups;

  • Perform limited CONUS travel; approximately six trips per year of approximately one week each.

  • Participates in the development, revision and delivery of internal and external communications materials.

  • Participates in special projects as required.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of directly related internal and or marketing communications or public relations agency experience.

  • Direct experience writing, editing, consolidating information for newsletters

  • Experience working with media specialists to film short video announcements

  • Strong technology skills

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and orally

  • Expert level briefing skills

  • Direct experience at the intermediate level with SharePoint

  • Demonstrated intermediate level experience with publishing software

  • Proven command of editorial and grammatical skills

  • Experience with media research methods and mass communications

  • Experience in Information Assurance

  • Knowledge of personnel security, physical security and operational security

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.)

  • Experience as an integrated team member performing planning for organizational training

  • Interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks and possess effective time management skills

  • Ability to work independently on routine security matters

  • Experience in leading the planning and coordination of informational and technical programs
