Intern Network Engineer
Position Overview: Seeking technically talented individual excited at learning and implementing leading solutions in support of customer requirements. Should be able to work with direction in exploring solution approaches and trade-offs, and capable of using that learning in designing innovative and cost effective solutions. Successful candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and must be able to present their analysis, recommendations, and results. Strong writing and presentation skills are required
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in an engineering/computer degree program leading to a Bachelor of Science degree.
Current Sophomore or Junior
GPA of 3.0 or higher
Candidates should have basic knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques; Overview knowledge of network architectures, and common industry tools and techniques. Additional experience in the following key focus area is seen as highly desirable:
Familiarity with the design and implementation of networks in both a single location and in multiple locations utilizing routers, servers, data compression, security protocols, interface protocols, a range of devices (from desktop to mobile devices) and the ability to support applications listed below.
Some knowledge of Cloud computing in topic areas such as: Infrastructure and Platform as a Service, Architectures, and Cloud architectures
Unified Communications: Voice, Data, and Media over IP Communications, architectures, techniques, and protocols
Some travel may be required
