General Dynamics Information Technology QA Manager (Shipboard) in Chesapeake, Virginia
Responsible for developing and implementing programs to ensure that all products and services meet company standards and customer requirements.
Develops, monitors, evaluates and implements programs to ensure that all QEHS products and services meet company standards and customer requirements.
Supervise assigned QEHS staff and continue to promote team cooperation.
Ensures adequate product testing prior to implementation of QEHS products/requirements.
Administers problem management process including monitoring and reporting on problem resolution.
Monitors and evaluates the workplace to ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
Develops and administers QEHS policies and programs and present requirements in different ways to enhance participation and understanding.
Oversees the development and conducting of QEHS related training.
Works closely with customers, managers and technical staff to assure adherence to QEHS standards.
Understands and interprets ISO 9000, 14001, and OSHAS 18001 as they relate to safety and environmental requirements.
Interface with the QEHS Council and the PSTS and GDIT QEHS Managers
Formulate and implement programs to improve the Culture of QEHS within the BAs
Develop meaningful metrics to evaluate QEHS improvement
Prepare and present periodic briefs of QEHS issues for the QEHS Council
Encourage communication within the BA groups
Oversee preparation for internal and external audits and resolution of audit issues
Resolve any QEHS issues on the waterfront
Prepare and Present QMSRB briefs
Participates in special projects as required
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
8-10 years of related quality assurance experience, including supervisory experience.
Professional or internal certification(s) may be required, depending on job assignment.
ISO certification maintenance and experience
Experience with current NAVSEA Standard Items
Shipboard maintenance and repair experience.
Lean Six Sigma qualifications
