General Dynamics Information Technology Data Center Operations Support Intern, Technical (Seasonal) in Fairfax, Virginia
IT internship supporting GDIT’s HQ Data Center Server Operations and Facilities Plant Management staff.
Assist with install and cabling of server, storage, and network devices.
Work with GDIT property manager to ensure all IT hardware is asset-tagged
Assist with configuration of VMWare ESXi hosts and build of virtual machines
Assist with migration of data from legacy Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tool to new DCIM platform.
Analyze, research, and resolve discrepancies regarding IT inventory
Support application testing following maintenance, upgrades, and outages
Communicate effectively with all levels of management, customers, and peers
Participate in special projects and work with other technologies as required
Applicants must be detail-oriented, able to assist in lifting of IT hardware. Must be a U.S. citizen.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) required
Performs routine technical tasks in support of engineering, information systems, or related technical operations.
May install, maintain and operate computers and peripheral equipment.
May fabricate, install, and repair electronic or mechanical equipment.
May perform basic systems and/or software testing.
Participates in special projects as required.
Requires a High School Diploma.
Must be a currently enrolled, full time college student.
Majors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or other technical degree programs strongly prefered.
3.0 GPA, preferred
0-1 years of related experience supporting engineering, information technology or other technical operations.
