The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a large team of business development, capture, and proposal development experts focused on driving and prosecuting a market leading pipeline of new business opportunities. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing a market strategy to expand our already significant footprint in the Federal Civilian market.
Task and Responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:
The position requires development of broad customer and partner relationships in the pursuit of positioning GDIT for market opportunities. The position also requires extensive experience in business development and a proven track record of successfully closing business on large strategic opportunities across multiple agencies.
The Federal Civilian Division Growth VP will be responsible for:
Building, leading and developing a large team of business development, capture and proposal experts in a high volume and fast paced environment. Outcomes include identifying, positioning/capturing, and submitting proposals on $8B+ in new business opportunities annually, while sustaining market leading win rates.
To accomplish this, the Division Growth VP will participate in, and drive their team in the full lifecycle of business opportunity capture, including:
Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities within the Federal Civilian market to build a large and diverse pipeline across all federal civilian agencies.Developing and maintaining high quality relationships with customers and partners, including next generation technology vendors such as Amazon, Microsoft, ServiceNow and others.Providing critical leadership to help shape opportunities and our position throughout the opportunity life-cycleFormulating or supporting the communication and implementation of an integrated business development, capture and proposal strategy that clearly highlights GDIT’s value proposition and discriminators, and provides customers a clear and defensible justification for selecting GDIT for award.Establishing value added teaming strategies and competitive pricing structures to create a profitable return at a winning cost.Developing marketing strategies and providing input into market account plans with assigned account BD and P&L leaders that align with the company's strategic plan.Create a value-based partnership with the P&L accounts in the division, as well as other corporate resources and organizations, to maximize our effectiveness and build a trusted partnership that increases our win probability.Serve as a direct report to the Division SVP, and participate as an active member of the leadership team of the Division to operate and grow the business.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or a related discipline.
Master's Degree preferred.
Typically requires 15 or more years of hands-on experience in Federal Sales, Business Development and Strategic Capture Experience leading a large team of business development and capture assets, with the specific accountability for the win rates of the organization. Demonstrated experience in hands on leadership of large complex captures that resulted in a consistent track record of success (measured in contract awards) Extensive background developing business focused on IT Services, Lifecycle SW development, ERP solutions, and federal civilian mission focused program support offerings. Experience with Fed/Civ budget, investments and acquisition processes. Ability to think critically, solve problems, and be a strong team player who fosters collaboration
Additional specific requirements include: proven experience leading and winning contracts in the Federal marketplace with knowledge of respective acquisition / procurement policies andregulations; well versed in industry practices/trends/leaders; possess knowledge of our competitors; ability to motivate and energize a team to produce a winning solution; ability to develop and implement creative strategies into winning bids; possess excellent written/verbal communications skills, presentation skills, organizational time management skills; and display a strong sales presence.
