Job Description

Responsibilities

Responsible for; implementing; integrating; testing and making operational the control and distribution systems for all AV/VTC systems supporting the customer. In-depth knowledge with demonstrated experience engineering conference rooms; Webcasting; Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) and Streaming Video systems. Assist customers; and Key Stakeholders with cutting over AV/VTC systems. Assist system programmers with AV/VTC integration and testing to ensure the control system hardware and software (source code) meets the performance metrics. Provide project closeout to include as built drawings and technical acceptance reports. Coordinate; schedule and facilitate VTC requests including making conference room reservations. Track and document usage trends; coordinate with vendors for regular maintenance; hardware and firmware upgrades; and maintain VTC network configurations. Responsible for the training; motivation; discipline and performance evaluation of assigned employees.

Knowledge; Skills and Abilities

8570 Level 1 Required

In-depth knowledge with demonstrated experience using VTC Codec's; Audio Mixers; Control Systems; AV automation; Wiring; Amplifiers; Microphones; Projection systems; Video Cameras; and other A/V peripheral equipment

In-depth experience working with TANDBERG VTC Endpoints; Bridges and Software.

In-depth experience working with Telepresence Management Suite; and Codian Director

2 years of experience working with Microsoft Products.

Understanding of DISN Video Services; JWICS Video Conf. experience; and exposure to H.323 and SIP protocols.

In-depth experience with installation and operation of Tandberg and/or Cisco VTC equipment.

Tandberg trained or certified preferred

ITIL v3 Foundation certification preferred

Good communication skills; shows tact; effective listening skills and follow through

Anticipates questions and is prepared with answers

May be required to provide clear written documentation on systems engineering procedures

Provides effective mentoring to staff

Must be able to effectively conduct and interpret tests; and troubleshoot solutions of moderately complex operational problems

Detail oriented and organized; able to understand AV/VTC systems and ensure accuracy of work

May review the work of others and be able to detect errors or needed modifications

Education

Bachelors Degree in commercial art; fine art; or a related discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; professional training; or work experience.

Qualifications

5-8 years of related multimedia design experience.
