General Dynamics Information Technology Trainer in Harlingen, Texas
The instructor will facilitate training classes and related instructional programs for adult personnel in social service settings, as well as assist in the planning and coordination of the training and technical assistance programs. Personnel being trained will include social workers, medical staff, child care workers, mental health clinicians and service staff. Topics are primarily in child welfare and human services delivery but also include training on federal policies and procedures and tracking systems.
Candidates should live within commuting distance of the workplace location. These are 2-4 month positions that have the possibility of being extended. Notification of assignments will be 2-4 weeks prior to the start date.
Facilitates onsite training sessions, in the classroom and in the computer lab.
Prepares workstations and training materials.
Maintains training plans and records of training activities, participant progress and program effectiveness.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant information and technologies as assigned.
Collaborate with Program Support Specialists and IT Specialist to support systems operations as necessary.
May assist in the development, establishment and updating of course content and objectives.
Attends necessary orientations/trainings prior to deployment.
Remains onsite during training deployment periods.
Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work/military experience.
1 – 3 years directly related experience in course instruction.
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public administration, public health or business administration.
Experience and education specific to topics such as children and adolescents, case management, residential programs, supervision of staff or programs and training of staff.
Experience with web-based learning, development and/or evaluation of training curriculums.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working with and/or training adult populations in social service settings.
