Job Description

General Dynamics Health Solutions is actively seeking an Atlassian Tools Engineer to help lead the operations and maintenance of an enterprise Atlassian tools implementation.   • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux systems running Atlassian suite products including Confluence, JIRA, and BitBucket.

  • Systems and database performance tuning specifically around the Atlassian suite.

  • Deploy, upgrade and patch Atlassian instances.

  • Test new versions of the tools and plug-ins to ensure compatibility.

  • Ensure the reliability and security of the Atlassian suite, Linux environment, third-party products, and associated components.

  • Create and customize JIRA projects with various schemes, complex workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes to support customer projects.

  • Ability to provide off-hours coverage and support for maintenance during outage windows.

  • Work with various Atlassian consumers on effective use of their Spaces and Projects.

  • Demonstrate good judgment, identifying problems in advance and proposing solutions.

  • Prepare and maintain up to date documentation for internal and external customers detailing configuration of deployed solutions.

  • Work with Security teams early in design phases to ensure solutions comply with FISMA controls and Federal security policies.

  • Participate in the creation of a DevOps-enabled automated CI/CD solutions that deliver tools and processes for rapid application development efforts and on-going production operations.

  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to create sound automation solutions. Troubleshoot automation issues and find practical solutions to address barriers, enabling forward movement in the application lifecycle.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

  • Participates in special projects as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

Qualifications

Must have:

  • 5-8 years of related information technology experience.

  • 2+ years of hands-on Atlassian tools administration experience including installation, upgrades, plug-in installation and testing, and authentication system integration.

  • Enterprise experience across the entire set of Atlassian products and the third-party marketplace

  • Must be a US Citizen to be considered for this position.

Good to have:

  • Experience with federated implementations of JIRA and Confluence .

  • Linux system administration experience.

  • Experience with AWS Cloud a plus.

  • Database administration experience specifically with Postgres and MySQL.

  • Automated Systems Deployment/Management Expertise.

  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

  • Demonstrated experience with the Scrum Agile methodology.

  • Ability to influence others using reasoning, persuasion, and negotiation; excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Strong ability to learn new technologies in a short time.

  • Must possess well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
