We are seeking a Senior Audio Visual Network Administrator to join our Justice Programs team in support of the Department of Justice. Primary duties include analysis, administration and support of voice, video, and/or data communications networks. As a Sr. AV Installation Technician you will be required to perform and lead in the following tasks:
Participate in and lead aspects of major network, Audio / Visual installations and upgrades. Provide personnel with installation support skills that require at least 5-10 years of basic familiarity with audio visual systems to include but not limited to Crestron, Cisco and Polycom.
Lead in the building of A/V systems including but not limited to terminating cables, installing A/V systems parts with a rack, and connecting system equipment with the appropriate cabling, good cable management skills, and testing the equipment once assembled.
Pull old system cabling out and pull new system cabling using good cable management practices and skills during an install including but not limited to working from a ladder to pull cable across the ceiling, pulling cable through a cable tray in the floor, and understand how to use various tools including but not limited to connect Track, cable raceways, Panduit, cable ties, and cable tray systems.
Disassemble old equipment including but not limited to Polycom and notify Government POC for retention.
Be familiar with all A/V equipment and tools to build and install the equipment to include but not limited to testing terminated cables and various system parts to determine defective cabling and parts.
Be knowledgeable in spacing and installing ceiling mics and speakers with the ability to install table mics, sound bars and monitors.
Troubleshoots and resolves complex installation issues.
Participates in special projects as required.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or 5-8 years of directly related supervisory experience/military experience. Certified Technology Specialist Certification (CTS) or related certifications preferred. Must be open to travel 40% of the time in the continental US.
As a Senior AV Installation Engineer you will be responsible for leading the analysis, administration and support of voice, video, and/or data communications networks. Must able to work well with a team and lead installation projects. It is paramount to have the ability to work as a team player. Also be able to read technical diagrams, terminate all types of network cabling, and troubleshoot voice and video installation and system issues.
