General Dynamics Information Technology Information Assurance Officer in Kuwait City, Kuwait
Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.
Performs Computer Security Incident Response activities for a large organization, coordinates with other government agencies to record and report incidents.
Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation.
Recognizes potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information.
Evaluate firewall change requests and assess organizational risk.
Communicates alerts to agencies regarding intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications and operating systems.
Assists with implementation of counter-measures or mitigating controls.
Ensures the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by technical enforcement of organizational security policies, through monitoring of vulnerability scanning devices.
Performs periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance.
Prepares incident reports of analysis methodology and results.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required
Develop and implement a command wide Information Assurance (IA) program to include information security policies and procedures, requirements, architecture, personnel and objectives.
Conduct user, system administrator and key IA person training in Information Assurance awareness, education, and policy and procedure/best practices.
Manage the command IAVM (Information Assurance Vulnerability Management) program to include, but not limited to, patch testing, management, and IAVA compliance.
Maintain situational awareness of information security FPCON or/and oversee required actions mandated by changes in INFOCON.
Develop and maintain continuity books on actions the command will take when INFOCON/FPCON changes.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
0-2 years of related engineering experience.
Information Assurance Management Section.The below identifies the minimum qualifications required to fill the Information Assurance Management position as specified in paragraph 4.7 of the PWS.
5.7.1 Experience in the information security field.
5.7.2 Possess a current Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) or CASP certification prior to beginning on the contract.
5.7.3 Knowledge of DISA, STRATCOM, DOD, CJCS, and CENTCOM compliance and accreditation policy and procedures, and other relevant policy, including PKI implementation.
Employee will work 60 hours per week.Maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.Maybe required to perform duties throughout the CENTCOM AOR.
