General Dynamics Information Technology Data Scientist - Mid - TS/SCI required in Molesworth, United Kingdom

Job Description

Employs mathematics, statistics, information science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, network science, probability and modeling, data mining, data engineering, data warehousing, data compression, data protection, and /or other scientific techniques to correlate complex, technical findings into graphical, written, visual, and verbal narrative products on trends of existing intelligence data to leverage other Intelligence Community data sources. May perform the following functions:

  • Developing and utilizing machine learning and data mining algorithms including, but not limited to, prediction algorithms based on open source capabilities.

  • Integrating or coding algorithms to support Government intelligence search and discovery missions.

  • Making best-practice recommendations for managing data within hardware, software, storage, and bandwidth constraints.

  • Employing data science techniques to support predictive analysis, social media and crowd-source data analytics, war gaming, and strategy development.

  • Employing exploratory analysis and rapid iteration techniques of large volumes of data to quickly derive intelligence.

  • Evaluating a wide-range of existing methods, models, and algorithms to identify appropriate analytic applications; or, conversely, identifying analytic use cases to pilot new methods.

  • Developing strategies to integrate quantitative methodologies into traditional or qualitative analysis.

  • Identifying significant strengths, weaknesses, trends, gaps, and any other notable features of analytic tradecraft in the evaluated intelligence production.

  • Developing metrics, presenting findings, and suggesting recommendations for improvement.

  • May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced Data Analysts.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

  • Participates in special projects as required.


Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science, Statistics or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.



  • With a Bachelor’s Degree, minimum of 3 years of related experience.

  • With an Associate’s Degree, minimum of 7 years of related experience.

  • With a High School diploma or equivalent, minimum of 9 years of related experience.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in statistical analysis.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in database management.

  • Current TS/SCI clearance with the ability to take a counterintelligence polygraph is required.


  • Understanding of and experience with Intelligence Community directives, intelligence analysis, and analytic tradecraft is highly desired.

  • Prior experience in the USEUCOM AOR.
