General Dynamics Information Technology Shipboard Cable Installation Technician in Portsmouth, Virginia
Performs production assembly operations on cables, electronic and electro-mechanical components or sub-assemblies.
Performs electronic or electro-mechanical production subassembly and assembly operations to build up and assemble units of moderate complexity such as printed circuit boards, modules, chassis drawers, cable harnesses, and other electronic sub-assemblies.
Uses visual aids, wiring lists, schematics, blueprints, and verbal and written instructions to route, tag, test and terminate shipboard cables.
Identifies and selects components to be integrated into subassembly and assembly units.
Participates in special projects as required.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
1-3 years of related Cable installation experience. Must be able to work aboard a ship and in a shipyard environment.
Must be able to obtain Secret level Security Clearance.
Cableway Certification preferred.
Offer contingent upon candidate being able to obtain access to local shipyards.
