Job Description

Researches, designs, develops and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.

The Software engineer is expected toengineer, design, and build new or enhance capabilities and functions for new or existing applications that best meetthe customer's requirements. The candidate will be a part of a dynamic and high producing team responsible that isresponsible for assessing, evaluating, and providing revolutionary technology that provide search and discoverycapabilities within the applications. The successful candidate will need to have a solid software applicationdevelopment experience with an interest in creating operations for new tools and technologies. The successfulcandidate is expected to have on-the-job experience in semantic technologies, linguistic processing, recommendation systems, and/or machine learning a big plus.

Required:

  • Experiencewith creating an enterprise software applicationarchitecture framework and software application design and workflow using the best technology solution toinclude the security protection and monitoring for the application layer.

  • Experience with NGRX for Angular and AngularJS in addition toJava and Spring

  • Experience with the following software development testing tools: Karma and Jest

  • Experience with scripting such as JavaScript, Bash, and Typescript

  • Experience with enterprise Identity Access Management (IdAM),Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Data and Application Security technologies

  • Experience with different technology solutions for Secure Web andApplication Services (i.e. Citrix Secure Browser).

  • Experience with using Amazon Web Services technologies such asAWS Command Line (AWSCLI), Amazon Machine Images (AMI), Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Simple Storage Service (S3), Elastic Block Storage, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), or CloudWatch

  • Experience with automated provisioning technologies or methodssuch as Amazon Web Services CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or AWS bootstrapping via cloud-init scripts.

  • Experience with configuring and securing web services andapplication workflows such as Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, JBoss EAP, or Phusion Passenger

  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience working with sensitive data and the associated security requirements ofsafeguarding such data in-transit and at-rest

Desired:

  • Demonstrated on-the-job competencies with enterprise solutions architecture, technical leadership and strategy, enterprise data and analytic engineering, enterprise software development, and SysOps/DevOps.

  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Software Application Tier-3 SME with troubleshooting, investigating, and performing root cause analysis on production incidents.

  1. Leads the research and development of new software products and applications on the leading edge of established knowledge and standards.

  2. Conceives, designs, prototypes, and tests new methods, algorithms, and models.

  3. Defines architecture requirements and performance standards to meet or exceed management and customer specifications.

  4. Identifies and directs resolution of complex hardware/software interface issues.

  5. Advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.

  6. Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and presents results to management and/or customer personnel.

  7. Serves as the primary customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met on a timely basis.

  8. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced software engineers, and may have supervisory responsibilities.

  9. Serves as a technical team or task leader.

  10. May provide expertise to multiple projects and tasks.

  11. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

  12. Participates in special projects as required.

Education

  1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

  2. Masters Degree Preferred.

Qualifications

15-20 years of related software development experience.
