Job Description

Program Manager supporting Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Preventive Medicine Branch, Department of Epidemiology and the Accession Medical Standards Analysis and Research Activity.

  • Serves as the contract manager, and shall be the contractor's authorized interface with the Government Contracting Officer (CO), the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), government management personnel and customer agency representatives.

  • Responsible for formulating and enforcing work standards, assigning contractor schedules, reviewing work discrepancies, supervising contractor personnel, and communicating policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to subordinates.

  • Shall establish and maintain technical and financial reports in order to show progress to corporate management and clients.

  • Maintains client contacts to ensure conformity to all contractual obligations.

  • Ensures the development, maintenance, and implementation of work order management plans, a document which guides the performance of all functional activities performed in various task areas.

  • Evaluates problems, manages workflow, and organizes, plans, develops, and supervises execution of appropriate analytical approaches.

  • Will develop and deliver department analytical reports and give oral/visual presentations to professional groups.

  • May travel to meetings and conferences when necessary


MS or PhD (preferred) in Epidemiology


  • Minimum of 7 years postgraduate experience as a principal investigator of relevant military epidemiologic studies.

  • Experienced in advanced epidemiologic study design and analyses of computerized military datasets.

  • Strong computer skills in using SAS, Epi-info, and graphical packages.

  • Minimum of 5 years managerial experience.
