General Dynamics Information Technology Functional Specialist/Advisor with TS/SCI clearance in Springfield, Virginia
Analyzes user needs and performs research and functional analysis on a variety of projects.
Provides expertise, guidance, consultation, facilitation, and thought leadership to the client and/or project team based on specialized in-depth expertise in such fields as: engineering and technology; policy and administration; planning; analysis; training and development; facilities; communications; visual design; human capital; business; and management.
Ensures that quality is an integral part of the development, design and manufacture of products or services.
Monitors products and services throughout the life cycle; validates/verifies adherence to specified requirements through test and measurement activities; manages/leads quality assurance activities.
Works closely with assigned staff, senior specialists or task leads.
May direct the activities of specialists or other staff as necessary on activities related to the specified field or discipline.
Analyzes user needs to determine functional requirements for a wide variety of projects.
Performs technical assessments aimed at improving client systems.
Performs functional allocations to identify tasks and their inter-relationships.
Researches, identifies, and recommends resources required for task execution and completion.
Performs functional modeling based on requirements analysis.
Develops new systems or updates existing systems to meet client needs.
Serves as technical advisor to clients in assigned subject areas, recommends functional changes, and identifies areas for further investigation.
Generates recommendations in the form of technical briefings, reports, and other major documents provided to senior level client personnel.
Consults with clients to determine optimum design for assigned projects.
Identifies emerging relevant technologies that may result in improvements to current processes and systems.
Writes and updates project documentation including system procedures, presentations, and training materials.
Conducts functional testing of various systems.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
May serve as technical team or task lead.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies and subject areas.
Participates in special projects as required.
Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
8-10 years of related experience.
Experience in a distinct functional or cross-functional business area.
Experience may be broad-based crossing multiple markets (i.e., government, industry) and may also include relevant/associated certifications and knowledge of applicable tools, methodologies, or best practices.
Experience in coordinating activities performed by specialists or other staff as necessary for activities related to the specified field or discipline.
