Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Systems Engineer - Virtual Desktop Infrastructure in Stuttgart, Germany.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, upgrading, patching, and securing Red Hat Enterprise Linux in multiple enclaves.

  • Must possess developed communication skills in order to effectively work with colleagues to drive innovation and communicate capabilities to junior team members, colleagues, management, and customer leadership. The environments monitor, report on, and collect logs primarily in Citrix XenDesktop Virtual Desktop

  • Infrastructure (VDI) environments.

  • Responsible for developing ITSI Glass Tables for a variety of audiences; integral to this role will be the collection of requirements, providing guidance on capabilities and feature sets, and developing solutions as required.

  • Responsible for onboarding of new data sources, parsing and extracting relevant data, and development of meaningful ways to display that data.

  • Demonstrate experience with RHEL administration.

Secondary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, maintaining, and updating Citrix XenDesktop environments as required.

  • Experience with VDI deployments, specifically Citrix XenDesktop, is desirable.

  • Will be responsible for developing and implementing technical standards (SOP, TTP, implementation instructions, other required documentation) and monitoring processes for information systems, RHEL, and Citrix systems.

  • Collaborate and liaise with other teams within the organization as well as VDI team members to identify, track, and report on opportunities for system optimization, methods to drive efficiency, identify and reduce error rates, and empirically document customer experience.

Relevant Red Hat and / or Citrix certification required.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • A certification IAW DoD 8570.1 Technical Level II

  • US Citizenship and Active Secret Clearance

  • Motivated, self-starting individual

  • RedHat Linux STIG Experience (RHEL 7)

  • Knowledge of DoD IA/Cybersecurity and IT regulations and guidance

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Qualifications / Certifications

  • 5+ years of Linux system administration

  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting

  • Experience in the evaluation and integration of new technologies into

  • existing environments

  • Must have an IAT DoD 8570.1 Technical Level III certification or higher (CASP, CISSP, CCNP Security, GCED or GCIH).

  • Computing Environment Cert - Windows 10 Certification (MCP or higher)

  • Must have Secret Clearance to start, and the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI Level Clearance

  • Willingness to work flexible hours

  • Shift work may be required

  • On Call Status may be required

  • Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule is required

  • Must meet TESA requirements

  • May be required to sign for equipment
