We are seeking aLead Platform Subject Matter Expert: Searchwith focus on Development Operations (DevOps) technologies and services to support our Justice Programs team in Washington, DC/Metro Area. In this position, you will support the FBI’s Information Technology Applications and Data Division’s (ITADD) operation and enhancement of over 80 existing IT applications. ITADD oversees activities in information systems operations, information systems development and modernization, and IT security.


Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline (preferred), or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.



  • Responsible for engineering solutions supporting the application platforms

  • Custom Solr implementation, configuration, monitoring, and performance tuning

  • Application development to integrate these and other emerging technologies

  • Support and troubleshoot issues from development to production

Minimum Experience:

  • Ten (10) years of experience with programming and software development on large enterprise applications

  • Ten (10) years of experience with scripting languages, such as python, used in support of development and production operations

  • Five (5) years of experience designing, developing, and supporting an enterprise Solr implementation containing more than 200M documents and 40 shares

  • Experience providing platforms for large enterprise applications which are used by 20,000-50,000 users while maintaining 24/7 availability
