GDIT is seeking a Microsoft Senior Engineer.

Help support the Government Accountability Office in its mission to save all US taxpayers money. Our customer is passionate about their mission and we are tasked with keeping their IT services running smoothly, to help them achieve their goals. The auditors in this 4000 user community are subject area experts in all facets of government and industry best practices. We take great pride in supporting their wide scope of technology needs.

The team is seeking flexible, utility players to support throughout the Network. US Citizen or Permanent Resident is required per Government Customer. Provide Tier 4 support in a 5000 user environment.

Job Description:

  • A Senior UCT Engineer with a broad skill set with the ability to execute a mix of the following:

  • Strong technical background in the area of Microsoft infrastructure, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 messaging, and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 & 2012

  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, identify alternative solutions, and communicate best practices

  • Ability to interface with CSRA management and help coordinate across Networking and VTC Groups and help develop CSRA’s knowledge and support of Polycom/Skype/O365 for the purposes of transitioning to an all-cloud PBX and assisting in the support of general telephony

  • Help disparate groups coordinate in supporting a cloud PBX implementation

  • Experience with Skype for Business Online (Office 365 Government Community Cloud (GCC))

  • Strong skills related to Networking with ExpressRoute for Office 365/Skype for Business Online

GAO SPECIFIC:

  • The goal is as little on-site equipment as possible (i.e. NO local Lync/Skype servers); PSTN connectivity in the cloud

  • Provide Polycom Resource Manager – configuration management, and monitoring of Polycom devices to include Polycom VVX phones – Desktop/handset phones

  • Ability to configure and manage TRIOs – Conference room phones

  • Support RealPresence Group Series room systems (500 and 700 series)

  • Ability to configure and manage GAO SPECIFIC: use of Polycom devices with SKYPE FOR BUSINESS ONLINE (i.e. NOT Polycom proprietary)

  • Experience with CX5500s, Centro’s

  • Experience with other Office 365 implementations

  • General awareness of telephony technology, (Phone technology, Video teleconference technology, data/voice circuits, etc)

Required skills:

  • 5+ years working in an Enterprise-level IT department - Network and/or Systems Engineering

  • Proficient using MS Visio

  • U.S. citizens/Green card ONLY due to government or federal contract requirement

  • 3+ years of Office365/Skype for business experience

  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Exchange in a multiple domain and multiple site configurations

  • Must be able to collaborate in a team atmosphere and communicate through various technology channels with other team members and end users

  • Interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively, self-awareness, and excellent written and oral communications
