Virtualization Engineeris responsible for engineering, implementation, and design of the Mission Partner Environment (MPE) suite.
The Virtualization Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:
Researching, analyzing, recommending and implementing new technologies to include server virtualization and advance data storage and replication. The engineer is required to meet or exceed the set standards laid out by the customer by utilizing correct and approved processes, tools and techniques. In addition, the engineer will work as part of team to perform Tier III problem resolution services combining their expertise with the latest technology available to pro-actively avoid issues and restore degraded IT systems quickly and effectively.
Monitor status of MPE Mission Command systems to determine network accessibility, proper configuration, operation, and security. The engineer will develop and execute procedures to solve complex problems regarding system issues and anomalies.
The engineer will perform across all phases of applications systems analysis and implementation activities. The engineer will plan and implement interfaces with external systems as required and provide the full spectrum of C2 system administration, to include Solaris, Windows, and Linux operating system configuration and maintenance as well as VMware ESXI virtualization architectures.
The engineer will design, implement, maintain and upgrade VMWARE VSPHERE, VCENTERS, ESXI Hosts, Virtual Machines, Upgrade Manager and VMWARE Disaster Recovery.
The engineer must ensure compliance with DOD IA and Security requirements to include 8500 controls, secure technical implementation guides (STIG), best practices.
The engineer must prepare and update flowcharts, data flow diagrams, and other system documentation.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.
Posses a relevant industry certification such as VCP 6.5, Oracle VM CIS, MCSE: Cloud Platform & Infrastructure, CCNP Data Center and posses an active Secret clearance at start.
IAT Level II Certification is required at start.
